By now local and national news is widely publishing Brianna Denison’s picture, last seen about On Monday evening, members of her family made an appeal for her return and for anyone with information about her disappearance to call one of the informational lines, listed below. Police have not named any suspects at this point, but Brianna’s family is determined to find out where she is. In turn, they are offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to her safe arrival at home. Myself and part of the Daybreak crew were discussing this early this morning. Society these days has changed, unfortunately, not for the best at all times. People are not necessarily as aware, and pay little attention to what is going on around them. People are concerned with the wrong things, such as material items and money. The Entitled Generation, as I have heard it called frequently, are the youth and even some young adults, who don’t respect the value of a job. They feel they should just be given a raise or promotion, but don’t really want to work for it. People don’t always have the level of respect or proper manners for elders, employees, even family and friends. In turn, many people confuse wants with needs. We so easily say “I need this…” when in reality, we don’t NEED much, as far as survival goes. What I am getting at, it this. We were discussing the monetary reward in finding Brianna. Our phones here in the newsroom ring constantly asking for the tip line or other informational numbers. But if police are sadly turning up with no positive clues, dogs aren’t finding a scent…. Where are some these tips coming from and where are they going? Obviously there are those that did see her or know her and can help… but what are the other people saying? Our curiosity was aroused as to just how many people are calling in for the wrong reason: the money. Or even, for that matter, the publicity. I really hate to think people would stoop to that level especially in a case like this, but people are all different, and so much of today’s society is concerned with money. I ask your thoughts on all of this, out of curiosity, and to maybe point out those that are calling for the wrong reasons. The point of these informational lines is to help find her and bring her home safe. To think that the point we brought up about calling in simply in hopes of getting the reward, saddens me. So what do you think? Are people better than this? Or will everyone truly be lending a hand in bringing home this young woman to her family and friends? i tried looking up that profile http://www.myspace.com/lolimdead and its been deleted. that is disgusting to me. i just wonder what was on the profile that had to do with brianna. was it a profile "dedicated" to finding her? sickening.. Posted by: Anonymous Location: NV No offense, Rob in Charleston, but those things aren't really possible. I'm familiar with the NV DMV computers, and unfortunately the "CSI Effect" has people calling for things to be done that really can't be. Posted by: kathleen Location: dubuque I follow tis web site, briansdreams.com and thought you'd might be interested in this site reguarding brianna denison case # 603 on the site. Hopefully something in these post may help you find her killer! Lets get this creep!!!!!!!! From Iowa Posted by: Anonymous Location: Reno, NV I found a very disturbing profile on myspace regarding Brianna, the link is http://www.myspace.com/lolimdead You never know how significant or insignificant a tip may be - the creator of this profile is worth tracking down, I think. Posted by: Anonymous Location: Fernley I think all of us know what she looks like, why is she so different from any other victim. Posted by: Ben Location: Reno They once put up a million dollar reward on anyone with info on how to caputre Bin Laden. On the first day they recieved over 400, 000 phone calls. The point of the reward is to entice people to call in with leads and information to help solve the case. Hell yeah you are going to get a couple calls from people just looking for money. Lets focus on finding Brianna. Keep the tip lines open, maybe someone calling in for monetary purposes will end up cracking the case! I say up the ante and lets get this girl home! Posted by: ce Location: Reno The news media had mentioned that the first victim had left the country and that on Jan. 19th someone tried to break into the home she was living at at the time of her attack. Does the RPD have any leads on who attempted to break into that home? Posted by: Amedium Location: Louisiana To find Briannas kidnapper maybe they should try the bowling alleys in the area you know? That guy might be a bowler http://www.leaguesecretary.com/BowlerHome.aspx?UID=62855 Posted by: Rob Location: Charleston, WV Have the police and FBI used the State of Nevada computer programmers to get a file of DMV data based on the suspects personal description and vehicle description and another file from vital statistics to find all fathers who have had a child within the timeframe based on the childs shoe size (that was in the seat)? They could merge these two files by last name and filter the results down to the local zipcode. They may get quite a few results but it would be worth a try, Brianna's life is at stake. By now the police should have a pretty good idea of what model vehicle he is driving based on the description the previous victim gave. That should narrow the results down drastically. My prayers are with Brianna and her family. Posted by: Jackie Location: Winnemucca NV I agree with Heather.... there is no way I could accept any monies for helping find this young girl !! All I care about is her safe return home !! No money !! Most good hearted folks will agree. My heart goes out to this family... my prayers are with them also !! Posted by: Don Location: Reno I pray Brianna is returned safely and the family is happily reunited. Posted by: Heather Location: Sparks If I were to see Brianna and called the police, I would not accept the reward from the family..it would just be the right thing to do and someone shouldn't gain monetarily from acting like a kind human being. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Posted by: Ken Location: Reno I think she was taking by someone on the block.Go to every house. |
