Producers are multi-talented. They must be skilled writers, organizers, and detectives.
I'm grateful for all they do... and that these camera shy individuals let me take their pictures.
Allow me to introduce you to:

Scott H. Technically he's an Assignment Editor but for purposes of this blog  we'll put him with the Producers. Scott scours the community for stories that viewers want to see, then he decides which reporters will cover what.  As you can immagine he hears a LOT of whining, but he keeps us all in line and smiling.

Katie H. is responsible for the 5pm & 5:30pm shows.  She has a double-edged wit, that eases the pain of your toughest assignments.

Rebecca B. Produces the 6:30PM & 11PM shows. Even when all the equipment crashes and the unpredictable happens she's smiling.

Stewart C. Produces the weekday webcasts. He's the most positive person I've ever met & he has a great British accent!

Anthony B. is the weekend web producer... and assignment desk. Believe it or not, he's the most soft-spoken person you'll ever meet.

.... and Finally John D. He's our weekday webchannel producer.

I just met Stewart this past 4th of July weekend & I have to admit, he has one heck of a sense of humor & very thick skin to put up w/ all of our ribbing for him being British on the 4th of July, hanging out w/ nothing but us "Yanks" on the river all day.

Here in Medford we miss Kendra bigtime. She owned the morning news on KTVL 10 and cleaned the clocks of the competition. I think Kendra's probably the next Diane Sawyer in the making...so KOLO had better treat her right to keep her! All the best to Kendra's continued success -- Reno may be "the biggest little town", and now Reno's got the top of the news talent.

Aren't you a producer too? You deserve Kudos for all the work you do on the weekends. Keep it up!

Right on Kendra for recognizing the team!

As a former news producer, I thank you. It is true, producers are the unsung heroes of the newscast, as are the assignment editors, tape editors, directors, photogs, prompter operator, camera people and all other folks behind the scenes. The average viewer doesn't have any idea how many people it takes to put on a newscast; it truly is a team effort. The producers at KOLO are lucky to work with some great on-air talent, too.

I NEVER watch any other news channel, I have lived in S. Tahoe for over 20 years, and no beats KOLO! Thanks to the producers and the reporters, the best news team (and big-hearted, love the cute stories too!) there is! Thanks for being there for us here on the CA. side too! :)
