 I must own up! I was wrong….WAY wrong. I thought that my beloved Denver Broncos would stink this season. Instead, they are yet to lose. I was outraged when they fired Mike Shanahan, and even more upset when we handed the reigns over to Josh McDaniels. After all, the first thing he did was chase Jay Cutler out of Denver. I thought we may win four games…..which we have. ALREADY! The Broncos are playing defense like they haven’t done in years. They’ve given up just 26 points TOTAL in four games….that’s the 5th fewest points allowed in 39 years!
Before the season started, I called for McDaniels’ head. Now I think I should call him and apologize. The Broncos are 4-0 and already have a two game lead in the AFC West. They may not be in the playoffs just yet, but I like what I am seeing.
I still love Mike Shanahan (I actually have a bit of a man-crush on him – he did win them two Super Bowls!) But I must say I was wrong about everything Josh McDaniels has done in Denver. He’s winning with defense, and the team is playing more inspired than they have in years. This could be the beginning of great things (again) in Denver.
And for that I apologize. I was wrong….and it feels great!
