Why is ESPN ignoring the Ben Roethlisberger civil lawsuit?  They have covered civil cases in the past.  When Micheal Jordan's former mistress sued him for money, they ran it.  When one of Michael Vick's former girlfriends sued him for allegedly giving her an STD, they covered it.  They also covered the civil suit brought against  Adam "Pacman" Jones.  Even more recently, they covered the civil lawsuit filed against the L.A. Sherriff's Department by former Wolf Pack kicker Tony Zendejas.  This was ran on the very same day that the Roethlisberger case hit tht news.  What make this case any different?

It's been odd to see every major network and news outlet cover the story, but the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" refuses to even mention it.  Is it because ESPN has a history with his attorney?  Is it because "Big Ben" is set to appear in a new ABC TV show called "Shaq Vs." ( ABC and ESPN are owned by the same parent company.)  Is it because he has appeared in numerous ads and other shows on the network?  No one knows why they choose to ignore the case, but everyone is wondering.

They covered the Kobe Bryant case wall-to-wall....almost a bit of overkill.  I know that Kobe faced criminal charges, but those were later proved unfounded and dropped.  The DA that brought the case even lost his job.  ESPN was all over it.

This smacks of a "cover-up" by ESPN.  They clearly like Roethlisberger, so they don't run anything to tarnish his name.  There are reports that they have even issued a "Do Not Report" policy to their employees.  Why?

I don't know who is telling the truth....Roethlisberger or the woman that filed the suit.  But the fact that a lawsuit has been filed is reason enough to report the story.  You can be impartial by stating the facts....'a lawsuit has been filed alleging a rape and cover-up by Harah's employees.  Roethlisberger has denied the allegations.'  See, that wasn't so hard.

ESPN has dropped the ball with this case.  They can't pick and choose when and what to cover.  If they truly are the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" they need to cover the stories that are making "worldwide" news.

I thought I was the only one that noticed ESPN's silence. It is unbelievable how partial and biased they are, reminds me that they are not real journalist. They're partially owned by a managing director the Red Sox anyway, I always thought that was incredibly strange. And that's the same guy who did the Mitchell Report, no?
