I am sick of the same old excuse....."I made a mistake." No you didn't, you made a decision. Manny Ramirez is back from his 50 game suspension for flunking a drug test. One of his coaches for the Dodgers, Larry Bowa, said on radio yesterday that Manny made a mistake and that he apologized. That is a bunch of bull. He knew exactly what he did. It's just like the rash of politicians (on both sides of the isle) who claim they made a mistake in cheating on their wives. They made a decision to carry on affairs. When they are caught, they claim to be sorry. WRONG, they are sorry that they got caught. I do believe that people should get another chance....just don't claim it was a mistake. Mistakes happen, decisions are made. Manny made his, and he dealt with the consequences. Let's not pretend that he is sorry that he cheated baseball. He took the drug knowing that baseball had a drug-policy. Many fans are happy to have Manny back, but he's certainly not sorry for what he did. He's sorry that he got caught. |
