First off, I need to be honest. I own a Pit Bull. He's the best friend I've ever had. He's gentle, kind and full of love. That's why I never want to see Michael Vick in the NFL again. I'm all for second chances, but I disagree that everyone DESERVES a second chance. Michael Vick is accused of evil things. To this day I cannot see how someone could kill dogs in such a brutal fashion (drowning, bashing in their heads, etc.) To me, someone who does that is incapable of changing. I'm sure he'll never do it again, but that's not good enough for me. Hundreds of dogs were killed during his association with "fighting" rings. They will never get another chance. I'm all for Michael Vick getting a second chance to live a life outside of prison. But I'm against that life being associated in any way with the NFL. He was given a tremendous opportunity.....and he blew it! Most people will never get the chance to make millions and become a star in the NFL. I hope that he never suits up again in the NFL. I hope that he finds some peace in his life, and I hope that he finds some gainful employment.....as a mechanic, a salesman, a grocery clerk, whatever. I don't want him to get another chance to become a star. He's no hero, he's no idol. He's a man that did a very bad thing.....several times. Good luck Mike....here's hoping we never hear from you again! |
