They say all good things come to an end.....an unfortunately that has happened here at KOLO 8.  My good friend Eric Sperling is leaving us.  Both he and his beautiful wife Malia are relocating for new jobs.  They were both opportunities you just cannot pass up.

It certainly won't be the same without him.  I've been at KOLO 8 for about 7 years (with a brief 5 month absence in between) and I've never worked with a guy as likable as Eric.  He treats everyone with respect and is not full of himself...something VERY rare for this business.

As "cool" as he is off the air, he's even better on.  I've done the Sports Caravan with numerous people....but I've never had the chemistry that I do with Eric.  He made that show a joy to do and watch.  I looked forward to Friday night's all season long.  The Sports Caravan will go on......but it will never be the same.

It's sad to see a good friend go, but it's also rewarding to see good people advance in a tough business climate.  He was here for about three years and he left his mark on this community.  Many viewers and co-workers will never forget him.  We should all be so lucky.

Goodbye Eric.....you're a class act.  And you will be missed.  GOOD LUCK!

P.S.  Go Broncos!

I 2nd the idea of Josh Little taking the seat as Sports director/reporter... despite the fact he's a die hard Broncos fan. -Hey, nobody's perfect, but Little's been behind the camera and in front of it for 7 years now. Wake up and do the right thing KOLO... why he's not a "shoe in" is beyond me. He knows the material, is excited about what he does, and comes across with poise and character. What's the hangup?

Geez, one more bites the dust! So glad Eric is leaving for a beter opportunity, I have stopped watching the News on Channel 8 because of the awful replacements they have hired. I can't STAND the FRESH news team!!! "Fresh" is not what I want to hear in the morning.

I caught the tail end of the KOLOTV news broadcast last night (Friday) when I suddenly heard Eric giving his farewell. I was so shocked to hear he was leaving. I've enjoyed watching him & seeing him grow into a fine news & sports caster. When you (Josh Little) came back, I was thrilled because I missed you too when you left the first time. I did notice the great chemistry you & Eric had, & looked forward to the 30 minute Sports Caravan on Friday nights. You two made it so much fun & entertaining--I used to think, "you're a perfect duo." (& Josh, you're not full of yourself either, which is why I like you). Well, Eric, you will be greatly missed, but you're young & deserve to move on & take advantage of new opportunities. I've enjoyed your broadcasts (& adlibs) so much. The best of luck to you!! (& Josh, I'm glad you're still here!!)

Josh,I will miss Eric also, but I have a question:I see KOLO is advertising for sports director/reporter,do You not want this job ? Or are You not being considered ? I feel You are certainly qualified and should have the chance.I hope this isn't another bad decision as with Tad and others.
