Wolf Pack Makes Big Splash

There's got to be something in the water of Reno.  The Wolf Pack have been sending more and more players into the professional ranks, and they're not just succeeding....they're setting records.

Ramon Sessions wrapped up his rookie year with the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award.  In just 17 games this season , he hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer (@ Wizards, April 2nd) and recorded three double-doubles.....capped by a 20-20 game.  He set the Bucks franchise record with 24 assists, and also became the first Buck to ever have at least 20 assists and 20 points in the same game.  That came in Game #16 of his rookie year!  Incredible!

What about Kevin Kouzmanoff?  Back in 2006 he made his major league debut by hitting a Grand Slam in the first at-bat of his career....on the very first pitch!  No one in MLB history had ever done it!

Add in Nate Burleson (two-time Pro Bowl Alternate), Lyle Overbay (led MLB in 2B's - 53 in 2004) and Kevinn Pinkney (15 pts in 21 minutes in NBA debut w/ Celtics in 2007).  John Dutton became the "face" of the Arena League, even gracing the cover of their Playstation 2 video game.

A handful of others are currently making their mark as well.  Nick Fazekas (Clippers), Kirk Snyder (T'wolves), Ryan Church (Mets), Joe Inglett (Blue Jays), Chad Qualls (D'backs), Corky Miller (Braves), Jeff Rowe (Bengals) and Harvey Dahl (Falcons) are all still living their professional dream.  Ezra Butler will soon be joining them in the NFL.

I'm sure one of them will soon be in the record books as well.  There's just something about Nevada.
