You Can't Blame McGee For Leaving

I know all Wolf Pack fans are really sad about losing JaVale McGee.  The constant criticism I hear is that he's not ready and is really making a mistake.  I can understand that logic, but the fact is he HAD to go.

NBA General Managers have told his mother that he will be picked anywhere from late in the lottery to around 20.  That's between the 10th and 20th overall pick.....an opportunity that Ramon Sessions nor Nick Fazekas would ever be given.

I know the argument about taking out an insurance policy to protect against a career-ending injury.  But does that insure the dream?  McGee has wanted to play in the NBA his whole life.  An injury could end that dream.

No one would complain if a social studies student left school early to take a high-paying job.  Why should athletes be held to another standard?  They go to college to get a job, just like every other student.  If their opportunity comes early with a whole bunch of cash, I say best of luck.

As a Nevada fan, I wish he had stayed for at least one more year.  As a realist, I understand his decision.  Best of luck JaVale...thanks for the memories.

Hats off to the slam master, it will be even better watching JaVale tear up the NBA, Anyone see Sessions play the other night? and Nick is on his way as well. Fun stuff Reno, Through this we can hope everyone knows of our Northern Nevada College as the real deal, and how to say NEVADA not NEVODA.
