RENO, Nev. (AP) - A jury has been seated and the trial will begin in Reno Wednesday for the man accused of kidnapping and killing one college coed and sexually assaulting two other women more than two years ago.
Lawyers took two days to weed out prospective jurors with the strongest views on the death penalty before settling on a panel that will decide if James Biela is the serial rapist responsible for the string of attacks that had the city on edge for nearly a year.
Twelve jurors and two alternates have been sworn in to hear the case. The jury is comprised of 8 women and 6 men. There are 11 Caucasians, 1 African American, and 1 Hispanic.
The Sparks pipe fitter could be sentenced to death if he is convicted of murdering 19-year-old Brianna Denison in January 2008.

Perhaps the choice of words were not the best, but I am quiet sure, it was a figure of speach and that she is very much aware that this is not a game.
Auburn made a terrible choice of words in the 6:30pm news cast today. She was reporting on James Biela and at the end of her report she said, “We do not know what is going to happen it is anyone’s game.” Someone should remind her that this trial is not a GAME!!!!
