Live Updates from the James Biela Trial

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Jury selection continues for the trial of a Nevada man accused of kidnapping, murder and sexual assault as lawyers question prospective jurors on whether they would consider sentencing James Biela to death if he's found guilty.

Biela is charged with kidnapping and killing 19-year-old Brianna Denison and sexually assaulting two other young women more than two years ago.

At the urging of prosecutors, Washoe District Judge Robert Perry dismissed three more jurors on Tuesday who said they could not vote
to execute anyone under any circumstances.

Public defender Jim Leslie is trying to find jurors who are open to alternatives, such as a life sentence with or without the possibility of parole. Several said they would.

Prosecutors are optimistic they will seat a jury by the end of the day.

I believe if he is convicted, they should give he a tatoo across his forhead that says rapist and he should be put in genral population. Don't waste our money on death row, the genral population will make sure he gets what he deserves. Suprisng is even crimenals have morals and they will not tolarate him, someone will make sure he gets handled. Justice would be better served by having the GP do to him as he did to these poor ladies.

I have to agree with stella, the CONSTITUTION says innocent until proven guilty. Gina just because you think he's guilty doesn't mean that he is. The prosecutors have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he is in fact guilty of the crimes he is accused of. Just because you feel he is guilty doesn't mean we should abrogate his constitutional rights. It's people like you who forget little things like the constitution when you are upset, but remember it when you feel like
