RENO, Nev.—Barry Enright scattered just a run over 6.2 innings of work Thursday night, lifting the Reno Aces to a 4-2 victory over the Sacramento River Cats in Game Two of the Pacific Conference Championship Series at Aces Ballpark.

With the win, the Aces hold serve at home, and take a 2-0 lead into Raley Field for the remainder of the best-of-five series.

Reno drew first blood in the fourth, taking a 2-0 lead on RBI singles for Andy Tracy and Tony Abreu. The Aces augmented their lead in the fifth with a solo home run by Lucas May that struck the crossbar atop the Aces Ballpark scoreboard. As it would turn out, that would be all the cushion the Aces pitching staff would need.

Enright (1-0) held the River Cats to just six hits, with the lone blemish on his line coming on a sixth-inning solo home run off the bat of Chris Carter. After Enright’s exit, Tom Layne held Sacramento off the scoreboard to finish the seventh. Brian Stokes surrendered a solo home run to Josh Donaldson in the eighth to cut Sacramento’s deficit to two, before Mike DeMark came on in the ninth and slammed the door on his second-straight save.

Sacramento starter Tyson Ross (0-1) took the loss, surrendering four runs on nine hits. Ross struck out three and didn’t walk a batter.

At the plate for Reno, Tracy led the way with three hits, while Gillespie and Abreu chipped-in two hits apiece.

With a 2-0 lead, the series now shifts to Raley Field for Game Three and Games Four and Five, if necessary. On Friday night, RHP Kevin Mulvey gets the nod for Reno, while the River Cats will counter with RHP Travis Banwart. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.
