PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have designated infielder Cody Ransom for assignment to make room for the two players acquired in Tuesday's trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Diamondbacks sent second baseman Kelly Johnson to Toronto
for second baseman Aaron Hill and utility infielder John McDonald.
That left Arizona with another roster move to make to its 25-man
roster.
Ransom hit .152 with a home run and four RBIs in 33 at-bats with
Arizona.
He was a Triple-A All-Star this season in Reno, batting .330 with the Aces. He also set two franchise records with 26 home runs and 86 RBI.
