PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed infielder Cody Ransom to a minor league contract.

The 35-year old Ransom set franchise records last season with the Reno Aces, belting 27 home runs with 92 RBI in just 372 at-bats. He batted .317 with 29 doubles. Ransom was also named to the All-PCL team last season.

Ransom will get a chance to make the big league club out of spring training, but will likely begin the season with triple-a Reno.

Ransom has a career .220 batting average with 10 home runs in 337 major league at-bats.
