RENO - The Arizona Diamondbacks have called up infielder Cody Ransom from Triple-A Reno.

Ransom, 35, was batting .330 in 92 games with the Aces, setting franchise records with 26 home runs and 89 RBI. He's a versatile infielder who can play second base, third base or shortstop.

Ransom will take the roster spot of Stephen Drew. Drew broke his right ankle during Wednesday night's games. He's due to have surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season.
