OKLAHOMA CITY—Reno starter Gaby Hernandez held Oklahoma City to just two runs over six innings, but the Aces dropped their fourth-straight game Wednesday night, 2-1, at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.

Reno did not record a hit until the sixth inning, when Evan Frey hit a one-out triple to right-center field. Mark Hallberg followed with a ground ball to first, but Frey was gunned down trying to score from third, ending Reno’s first scoring threat of the evening.

The Aces got on the scoreboard in the eighth, when Angel Berroa led off with a double, advanced to third on a Lucas May fly ball, and scored on an RBI single by Frey. But Hallberg grounded into an inning-ending double play to end the threat, and Oklahoma City thwarted an Aces rally in the ninth to preserve their second-straight win over Reno.

Hernandez (4-6) took the loss despite spinning a quality start, the seventh by an Aces starter in their last nine games. Hernandez struck out five and walked five while surrendering just five hits and two runs.

Harrell (4-1) earned the victory for the RedHawks, holding Reno to no runs and just two hits in seven innings of work. Juan Abreu tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his second save of the season.

Frey accounted for two of Reno’s four hits, tripling in the sixth and driving in the Aces’ lone run with a single in the eighth. Berroa’s double and a Ryan Langerhans single accounted for Reno’s other two hits.

The Aces and RedHawks continue the series Thursday night, with Aces RHP Wes Roemer (0-0, no ERA) set to make his first Triple-A start of 2011. Oklahoma City will counter with LHP Andy Van Hekken (7-5, 3.14 ERA), with first pitch from RedHawks Field at Bricktown set for 5:05 p.m. PT.
