TUCSON, Ariz. — Former Wolf Pack pitcher Chad Qualls passed his first test in spring training with flying colors.

Qualls pitched a 1-2-3 third inning and recorded a strikeout in his first appearance since he dislocated his knee in August.

Rusty Ryal and Stephen Drew also went deep in the Diamondbacks 9-3 split quad win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Both players spent time with the Reno Aces last season. Ryal was the team's lone All-Star representative.
